that’s what this little boy was made of.

One More Kiss Dear

Forget the threadbare promises

and selfish demands.

Recall the eager reception

your body once granted

and with reckless abandon,

just once more,

surrender your intimacy

to that briny distillation

which set us on the road,

to the here and now

of cold denial
